What’s actually is rashtra bhakthi??
Just singing the national song, just waving the flag of that particular country?? or just shouting the name of that particular country till we get tired??
Rashtra means nation. which may refer to a community of people who share a common language, culture, ethnicity, descent, and/or history. A nation may or may not have any physical borders, when taken in a broader sense. However, it can also refer to people who share a common territory and government
Bhakti means devotion! but the english translation of bhakti is not enough capable of fully conveying two important aspects – the sense of participation that is central to the relationship between the devotee and God( in this pretext, Rashtra), and the intense feeling of love. Love is an emotion of strong affection, attachment, a virtue representing kindness and compassion and of course dedication!
Rashtra means people of that particular nation itself and not merely a territorial boundary! So rashtra bhakti means devotion, love towards the people of a particular country. It means we should love the people of our country as a whole, irrespective of any caste or creed. Nationality always believes in unity in diversity. When we work for our people with true love, attachment, compassion, then it is Rashtra bhakti in its true sense. When it is so difficult to love our own people, those born with us, from the womb of the same mother, it is much more difficult to love the whole lot of people of a country( in the broader sense people of the whole world) One can be considered a true rashtra bhaktha only if he loves all the people of his country, not just a particular community, feels them from the deep of his heart, their happiness and agony. Try to be a part of them. try to ward off their sorrows as much of possible, increase the level of happiness of his people. Its just like the love of a mother towards her children, that is with no intention of getting something in return!
When taken as broader thought, the whole world can be considered as a rashtra! Its what our Vedas convey! शृण्वन्तु विश्वे अमृतस्य पुत्रा:|
कर्ण्वन्तो विश्वमार्यम् |
This is how vedas teach us. Vedas never talk about any particular region, religion or nationality. It just speaks of the whole world as one, His own children! वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम् Its we who are creating differences among ourselves, considering that a nation or rajya, what ever may be, as a particular community or religion and fighting with each other in the name of a particular language, region or religion. Isn’t this an inhuman activity? First let us learn to be human! Humanity is much more greater than any nationality!
This does not mean we should lose ourselves among others, forgetting our self-respect, self dignity. When it comes to self respect and dignity, we should try to protect ourselves. we should fight for our sake when we find any inhuman activities! And it never suggests hatredness! We should just fight but never hate! So rashtrabhakti in its real sense is humanity but nothing else!
